The time before lunch seemed to drag on and on - Especially the few seconds before the bell actually rang. But when it did, it seemed like the whole class jumped for joy before exiting as quickly as a crowd that large was able. The teacher looked a little flustered when she was bumped into. She tried to capture the few students who were in the middle of their pushups, ordering them into the back of the room, but the woman was simply ignored.

Hosoko went through the line as fast as he could, hastily grabbing a piece of bread, picking up an apple, putting back the apple, and taking a carton of milk. He didn't want to be the person everyone was yelling at to move out of the way, or to hurry up. After he punched in his student number, he perused the vast room. There were circular tables in equal intervals al around the room, most of them filled. He directed himself to an empty one in the back, since he couldn't find anyone he knew sitting at another one. The other tables were so filled with people, most of the students stole chairs from other tables to sit with their friends. I probably just went through the line too fast, he thought to himself. That's why I don't recognize anyone. Before long, Akio and Akira had joined him, along with their jokes and prank ideas; Goro sat down quietly with a mug of coffee he'd stolen from the teacher's lounge; and even Kazuki passed by, waving a benign hand and offering a kind smile. Hosoko never really disliked lunch, but now it seemed much more fun. Maybe it was just the traumatizing P.E. lesson he had that day. Compared to that, even Math wasn't that bad.
